AMAZON INSECTS

A few years ago, I took a natural history trip with my father and sister into the heart of the Amazon Jungle. We traveled by riverboat up the Rio Negro from Menaus in Brazil. The focus was on birds and other tropical wildlife, and it was a very memorable, magical experience. This adventure inspired a series of paintings when I returned home. The insects pictured here, surrounded by a border of butterflies, are all found in the Amazon Jungle.
