Gingezel is the ultimate luxury resort planet in the science-fiction series I am writing with my husband Don. When designing my scarves, I tried to make them worthy of the best fantasy boutiques there. That focuses me. When I am working I concentrate on mood, whether it is relaxing, a sense of elegance, drama, or just plain fun. I find that then the elements of design just seem to happen.
I am a retired theoretical physicist, with a Ph.D. in nuclear structure calculations, the kind of quantum mechanics used to model stellar interiors. I have experimented with various artistic media all my life, but it was not until I got into digitally created art that I really found the way I want to express myself. With it I could combine my love of mathematics and art. Believe it or not, all of the rich intricate designs you see here are mathematics - fractals or other forms of mathematical art.
