Now I am delighted to offer my work on limited edition silk scarves. I love the times when I am balanced between awakeness and sleep where I can explore the layers of possibilities and meanings of a dream.
I paint to give myself a reference point from which to explore those territories. My focus is on people because they are so creative and
multidimensional. I am interested in seeing how they express their inner world through their facial expressions, body language and interaction.
Using a layering process to paint allows for layers of imagery and meaning to take form. Shapes, symbols and ideas emerge as I build up texture
and transparent layers of color. My paintings are kept vibrant by continually removing previous areas of paint that allows for spontaneous and
surprising juxtapositions to occur. I continue to build upon a painting until it achieves a depth and richness that keeps me intrigued. The
versatile nature of acrylic paint and mediums are perfect for my techniques.
I draw on the rich tradition of Expressionism and Surrealism which use distortion, exaggeration and fantasy to expresses unconscious thoughts and
dreams. My fascination with depicting multiple views within one work add element of Cubism to my work.
