Nancy picked up a paintbrush when she was 1 1/2 years old and never put it down. Throughout her childhood, Nancy always knew being an artist was her calling and
lifelong destiny. With the encouragement and support of many influential people in her life she is finally succeeding at making that dream come true after many
bumps and detours along the path.
Nancy bought her first 35mm camera in High School and found a new passion for macro photography which greatly influenced her artwork. Studying Art at University
of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, she received a BFA in Fine and Applied Art/ Painting, also taking courses in Photography, Ceramics and Art Education. Aside from
concentrating on her artwork, Nancy has been employed as a Professional Picture Framer, specializing in creative matting, frame design, shadowbox and special projects. She also has lovingly raised 3 very talented and creative children along with various family dogs, cats, amphibians, rodents and goldfish.
In our day to day life, we unknowingly overlook, ignore and do not appreciate the little things. By focusing on, capturing and manipulating the minute textures, forms,
distinctive shapes, underlying power and natural energy of objects, Nancy brings a whole new dimension to the viewer. She is determined to create an image that will
resonate and linger in the viewer's memory, opening a whole new world to appreciate.
