Sophia White specializes in collage on paper. Her work is an intricate layering technique that she has developed herself, working with mixed media on paper. She is a keen observer of life and it has taken many years to develop her technique and her distinctinve style.
Deriving inspiration from her travels in particular throughout Inda where the extravagant patterns, colours and designs have been ingeniously woven into her detailed and imaginative work.
Sophia also visited the Dalai Lama in Nepal where she adopted a different philosophy of life. She studied hands-on healing, among other therapies and she is a master healer. She brings a spiritual elemnet to her paintings that gives them a unique and magical quality.
In Australia she was inspired by the intense pattern work that is prevalent in Aboriginal and she has adapted some of these elements in her work as well.
Sophia was born and educated in England. She studied art in London and is currently residing in Hampshire England. |
